CROSSPOST: Blaugust 2024, Day 4: Starring Jon Lovitz

[Hi gang! I don’t wanna run a whole friggin’ website anymore, all I ever wanted was to make with the fake lies, yelling, and jokes that aren’t worth the legwork for the people, to be a simple blogger. To that end, you can now find me over at The Naming Way courtesy of the truly excellent Pika, alongside such Dudes of Quality as Jason and Brenden! It’s The Bageler will stay up until my subscription runs out next year and I’ll continue to cross-post until then; thank you all for reading, and I hope to see you over at my new pad!]

Reminder: Blaugust is a yearly post-once-a-day blogging-community event! Come join in!

DAYS WITHOUT DIET COKE: 3. You’ll all see my revenge when you least expect it¹.

But on to the news of the day! My tallest friend finally SUCCUMBED TO THE WEIGHTED BLANKET OF BLAUGUST and also my constant Skeksis-screeching and started a Pika of his very own, just like the rest of you would if you had any sand. While attempting to send him and our mutual Third Friend a song on our Discord, I accidentally sent the entire Naming Waydio playlist, to which I add a new song with every post and, as is his custom, he saw weakness and confusion and an unacceptable amount of ska² and began to exude observations, so I told him to put his monkey where his mouth is, and voila: a music critic is bornéd.

I encourage all of you to keep up with his latest tirades against my immaculate taste, and who knows, maybe someone will start a blog that critiques his critiques. Maybe someone handsome and mysterious who has an amazing credit score and can therefore afford two Pikas.

Adding six covers of MacArthur Park to the playlist as we speak,

¹ I lifted that phrase from Absurd Notions in probably 2005, in a strip where Warren has just finished doing something heinous that he couldn’t get out of for his boss, and I and MAY have just spent two hours re-reading it to try and find the panel, then my jazz gummy kicked in, and forgot I was doing that, and eventually I was just rereading it, and you know what? No regrets, still rules, still smart as hell, has aged better than most things made last week. Go read it, and 1/0, and Triangle & Robert
